Giving pacifier to 9 day old fed baby... any experience or comments on this?

My little girl is 9 days old, and the only way that I can get her to sleep on her own (not in someone's arms) is to give her a pacifier. I am feeding, she does well, and is pooping and peeing as she should. I started the pacifier last night as my husband and I are both in desparate need of sleep. I know that it's not recomended for fed babies to use pacifiers. I just wonder if anyone has used them this early and what has happend with the progress that has been made with feeding. Does it ruin it, or doesn't interfere at all?? Please, any experience with this will be appreciated!
