I wnat to move away with my son from were we live?

at present im in the northwest region and the area is bad.. im on my own and he is nearly 4 yrs old starts full time school next year.. so it would be better if i could move away before then. any advice.. has anyone elseever been brave enough to do this on there own with a child ? thanks x
